Cherokee County Road Closure: The town of Blacksburg will be closing the intersection of US 29 Cherokee Street and S-11-148 Shelby Street to make repairs to a broken water line. Both US 29 and S-11-148 will be closed to through traffic on Thursday, April 20, beginning at 8:00 am. US 29 detour route, Beginning at the intersection of US 29 (W. Cherokee Street) and S-11-190 N. Rutherford Street, turn left onto N. Rutherford Street and travel North approximately 0.08 miles to S-11-794 (W. Church Street). Turn right onto S-11-794 W. Church Street and travel approximately 0.44 miles to S-11-127 (N. Mountain Street Extension). Turn right onto S-11-127 (N. Mountain Street Extension) and travel south approximately 0.04 miles to US 29 (E. Cherokee Street).
