Coach Turner Fundraiser Check $4,700

Last week, Landrum and Liberty High Schools participated in a competitive fundraiser to celebrate Pink Out Week to see which school could raise the most money for someone close to their communities who is battling cancer. This year, they decided to give the money raised to our very own Coach Jet Turner.

At the end of the competition, Liberty High School had raised a total of $2000, and Landrum High School raised a total of $2107.58.

This combined effort raised a total of $4107.58 for the Turner family. We are so honored to be a part of Region I. While we are rivals on the field, we are one in the fight against cancer. Congratulations

and THANK YOU to both Landrum and Liberty High Schools!

Even after the initial competition, Landrum continued to raise money at the concession stand during Friday night’s game, earning an additional $500 for the Coach Turner.
Landrum is also selling ‘Jet’s Fight’ hoodies, with the proceeds going to Coach Turner and his family. They have already raised over an additional $600 from the hoodie sales. Information on how to order a hoodie is posted on our BHS Facebook page. The deadline to order is November 7th.

Coach Turner couldn’t be at the game Friday night due to his ongoing battle with cancer, but he sends his heartfelt thanks to everyone who has prayed for or donated to his fight against cancer.
On behalf of Coach Turner and his family, Blacksburg High School and the Blacksburg community would like to send a huge thank you to the Liberty and Landrum schools and communities for their generous support of Coach Turner. As the hoodie says, ‘In this region, no one fights alone!’

Landrum Head Football Coach, Jason Farmer presented the check to BHS principal Michael Mullinax, Athletic Director Robbie Blanton, and strength coach Joey Hawkins who accepted the check on behalf of the Turner family.

Once again, thank you Landrum and Liberty!
