Message from the Director of Athletics:

I am entering my 2nd year as the Director of Athletics for the Cherokee County School District. I am fortunate in returning to be a part of a community with so much pride and tradition. The athletic department at our schools are excited about the 2023-2024 school year. We are proud of the perseverance our student-athletes displayed during the 2022-2023 school year both athletically and academically.

The mission of the Cherokee County School District Athletics Program is to provide a safe and equitable quality sports opportunities and experiences for all students through competitive programs while functioning as an integral part of the academic setting. To that end, we want our student-athletes to pursue personal growth through academic work, team experiences, and as an ambassador of the school/district.

Blacksburg High School, Blacksburg Middle School, Ewing Middle School, Gaffney High School and Gaffney Middle School are all members of the South Carolina High School League.  (SCHSL) We have over 1000 students participating in our athletic programs each year.
